Applications:
Used primarily for decorative metal surfaces—panels, enclosures, consumer products, architectural elements—where a consistent directional grain and satin / matte aesthetic is desired.
Advantages:
Creates a textured aesthetic finish that visually hides minor scratches or marks, gives premium look.
Reduces surface reflectivity compared with polish/mirror, making it suitable for visible metal surfaces.
Appearance:
Uniform directional grain texture (linear lines), satin/matte finish. The pattern direction is typically specified (horizontal, vertical) and must be consistent across parts.
Applicable Materials:
Aluminium, stainless steel, brass, copper, and other decorative metals.
Important Notes:
The finish is largely cosmetic; it provides minimal additional corrosion or wear resistance beyond the base material unless combined with other treatments.
The direction of brushing must match design intent; mismatched directions across assemblies can look unprofessional.
After brushing, if the part is subject to further machining, welding, or bending, the surface may require re-finishing to restore the grain.
Fingerprints, oils and contaminant marks may still show; for best appearance a protective clear coat might be applied.
