Applications:
Used for both functional and aesthetic finishes on metal and plastic enclosures, consumer products, machinery, vehicles—providing colour, protection from environment (oxidation, moisture) and design identity.
Advantages:
Very wide range of colours, gloss levels, textures—offers strong aesthetic flexibility.
Adds a corrosion-barrier layer and can be a first-line defence for components in mild to moderate environments.
Appearance:
Smooth coloured surface; available in matte, semi-gloss, gloss finishes; can incorporate textures or patterns depending on paint system.
Applicable Materials:
Metals (steel, aluminium, etc.), plastics (with appropriate primers), composites.
Important Notes:
Surface must be properly prepared: cleaning, degreasing, sometimes primer or conversion coat is required for optimal adhesion and longevity.
Paint alone may not offer as high durability as some other finishes (e.g., powder coating, hard anodising) in high wear/abrasion applications.
Consider environmental exposure (UV, chemicals, abrasion) when specifying paint system (including top-coat, clear coat, etc.).
Colour matching, substrate thermal expansion, adhesion to complex geometry can all affect result.
