Applications:
Used widely for metal parts (frames, housings, outdoor equipment, appliances, automotive components) where durable coloured finish, weather resistance, and high volume production are required.
Advantages:
Durable finish: good resistance to impact, chipping, weather/UV, corrosion when properly applied.
Environmentally friendly compared to some liquid paints; over-spray often recyclable.
Ability to apply thicker decorative/functional layers in one pass.
Appearance:
Solid-colour finish, available in matte, semi-gloss, gloss, textured, metallic or custom textures; uniform surface.
Applicable Materials:
Primarily metal substrates—steel, aluminium (often with suitable pre-treatment).
Important Notes:
Surface preparation (cleaning, degreasing, pretreatment like conversion coating) is critical for long life.
Because the coating is thick, dimensional tolerances and masking need special attention (especially holes, threads, mating surfaces).
Cure temperature limits: substrate and assembly must withstand powder-coat bake temperatures.
Repair or touch-up can be more complex than with liquid paint systems.
